'Plain old gibberish': Trump brutally mocked for nonsensical tweet claiming Mexico already paying for the wall

President Donald Trump put out a nonsensical tweet on Wednesday falsely claiming that Mexico is already paying for his proposed border wall thanks to the revamped version of NAFTA that still hasn't even been approved by Congress.

"Mexico is paying (indirectly) for the Wall through the new USMCA, the replacement for NAFTA!" the president wrote. "Far more money coming to the U.S. Because of the tremendous dangers at the Border, including large scale criminal and drug inflow, the United States Military will build the Wall!"

The new NAFTA contains no provisions for funding the border wall and there is no evidence that it will generate enough money for the United States government to pay for the wall.

Additionally, the United States Constitution gives Congress the power to allocate funds -- and it's highly likely that Trump's attempt to build the wall without congressional approval would get shot down in court.

The president's critics on Twitter quickly jumped on his latest ramblings -- check out some of the best reactions below.
