Sarah Sanders: The FBI ‘broke every standard protocol that they have’ when they ‘ambushed’ Michael Flynn

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Tuesday accused the FBI of breaking “every standard protocol that they have” in order to make a case that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn lied to federal investigators.

Just minutes before Flynn was set to be sentenced in federal court, Sanders appeared on Fox News and echoed the concerns President Donald Trump has expressed about special counsel Robert Mueller’s prosecution of the former national security adviser.

“We don’t have expectations but certainly we have a lot of concerns,” Sanders said of the sentencing hearing.

According to the White House press secretary, the FBI “broke every standard protocol that they have” when they interviewed Flynn about his connections with Russians during 2016.

“We know that because of [former FBI Director] James Comey’s actual comments that they threw FBI protocol out the window for one reason only, because it was the Trump administration and they thought they could and could get away with it,” Sanders stated incorrectly. “It gives a lot of concern how this was conducted. They even convinced Michael Flynn not to include White House counsel’s office in the interview. A lot of problems here and we’ll see what the judge does later today.”

Sanders went on to claim that Flynn had been “ambushed” by the FBI.

“And the FBI we know had clear political bias,” she insisted. “We’ve seen that time and time again. One thing we’re 100 percent sure on — the president made the right decision in firing James Comey because every day we learn more and more all of the things that he did that were so far out of bounds for what the FBI director should do. And we’ll see how that plays out in court today.”

“Certainly that’s one thing that we’re 100 percent certain about,” she added.

‘This is going to be a blowout’: Morning Joe throws devastating new Fox News polls in Trump’s face

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough kicked off Friday morning by listing off a collection of new polls that shows Donald Trump is headed to defeat in November, adding that the presidential election is looking like it will be a blowout favoring Democratic challenger Joe Biden.

Speaking with "Morning Joe" co-host Willy Geist, Scarborough appeared almost giddy as he read off the latest numbers showing the president still has not turned his floundering campaign around.

"Joe Biden has pulled ahead in Wisconsin in some polls 7, 8 points," Scarborough began. "So the states everybody has been talking about, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and really Ohio wasn't a part of this. Ohio and Iowa comfortably fell in Donald Trump's campaign, but all five of those states across the upper Midwest have obviously been part of the heartland battle."

Experts: Lawsuit heading to Supreme Court would lead to ‘massive’ transfer of wealth from middle-class to richest Americans

Published

The Republican lawsuit that seeks to strike down the Affordable Care Act would save the richest one-tenth of 1 percent of Americans an average of $198,000 per year, according to an analysis by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

The case, which was initiated by 18 state attorneys general and backed by the Trump administration, is scheduled to be heard by the Supreme Court a week after the November election. A Texas judge ruled in 2018 that the entire Obamacare law was unconstitutional, after the Republican-led Congress eliminated the individual mandate penalty in its 2017 tax bill and an appeals court then sent the case back for the judge to decide whether the entire law needed to be struck down.
