On Friday, CIA analyst Phil Mudd bashed the president for complaining about not going on a vacation as senators scramble to avert a government shut down.
Trump has refused to sign off on the budget until the Senate approves funding for his border wall. Trump tweeted that he canceled his vacation until a vote occurs.
"Some of the many Bills that I am signing in the Oval Office right now. canceled my trip on Air Force One to Florida while we wait to see if the Democrats will help us to protect America’s Southern Border!" Trump tweeted.

On a panel discussion hosted by CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Mudd called Trump's leadership style "comical."
"Are you kidding me? This is a propaganda tool," Mudd said. "The president of the United States is complaining because he can't go on vacation. Is that the deal here. This is comical."
He then said the underlying issue is not Trump's border wall, but his leadership style.
"By simple math, these guys can't figure how to bridge 3.4 billion dollars which is a decimal in the budget. It isn't about the wall it's about leadership, and this is comical leadership," he said.
