Trump didn't destroy girl's Christmas because she didn't know what 'marginal' meant -- but she never got Santa's location

Christmas Eve, President Donald Trump and the first lady answered a few phone calls tracking Santa Claus as he traveled around the globe delivering toys to children. When Trump spoke with one 7-year-old, he appeared to kill the holiday by speculating about the icon's existence. In the end, the child never learned Santa's location.

"Are you still a believer in Santa?" Trump asked the girl. "Because at seven it's marginal, right?"

According to the Post and Courier, however, the president managed not to destroy her holiday. The girl still is a believer.

At 6:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, 7-year-old Collman Lloyd called the North American Aerospace Defense Command's (NORAD) Santa tracker from her home in Lexington, S.C. The family was shocked to get the president on the other end of the line, but if anyone knew where Santa was, presumably, it would be Trump.

In the end she never got her answer and her Christmas was almost destroyed when Trump asked the strange question.

"Lloyd had never heard that word before, 'marginal,'" the paper reported.

She still left cookies and milk for Santa that night.
