Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin on Thursday told MSNBC that retiring House Speaker Paul Ryan needs to show some "leadership" and call out his fellow Republicans for passing last-minute legislation that strips incoming Democratic governor Tony Evers of his powers.
"I do think this is about leadership," Baldwin said, and highlighted Ryan's hypocrisy. "He, too, was at the funeral service yesterday for President George H.W. Bush. He, too, knows about the concept of when power peaceably moves from one person to another and one party to another."
"I hope that Speaker Ryan is still as invested as he ever was in the success of Wisconsin," she added. "So I think he absolutely should speak up about this."
