Democrats have taken to the Senate floor, demanding the upper chamber pass a House bill that would end the government shutdown.
The House has passed 10 bills thus far that give any number of possibilities of funding for border security to no avail. The Senate was scheduled to vote on two bills at 2:30 p.m. EST -- one is the Democratic bill and another the GOP alternative.
Politico's Jake Sherman and Variety's Ted Johnson captured the moment the Democrats marched down the hallowed halls:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) waged her own efforts to lobby the Senate this week when she went on a journey attempting to locate Mitch McConnell, who proved nowhere to be found.
