A senior Donald Trump adviser lamented that the president's decision to end the 34-day shutdown was a "humiliating loss."
"A humiliating loss for a man that rarely loses,” this adviser told CNN's Jim Acosta. “I miss winning."
The anonymous adviser was far from alone in their sentiments.
Immediately after the president announced he's signing a three-week stopgap government funding bill that doesn't include immediate money for his wall, Pizzagate conspiracy theorist Mike Cernovich called Trump a "broken man" — and added that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is an "alpha."
Conservative pundit Ann Coulter — whose barbs at Trump may have led to the shutdown in the first place — shared similar sentiments.
"Good news for George Herbert Walker Bush: As of today, he is no longer the biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States," she tweeted.
