The shutdown saga continued Wednesday for the 33rd day, as Donald Trump blamed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and accused her of hiding the "truth" from the American people by delaying his State of the Union speech until the shutdown is resolved.

Trump also accused Pelosi of dominating Sen. Chuck Schumer.

On CNN The Lead Wednesday, analysts debated whether the shutdown had a higher political cost for Trump or Democrats. Polls show that the shutdown is widely unpopular and that a majority of Americans associate it with Trump.

"I think if we take a look at what's happening in the moment polling wise, again, as we have said, Trump seems to be taking the hit for this," said CNN analyst Karen Finney. Finney added that throughout Pelosi has kept her message simple: re-open government.

"Pelosi looks very strong, very tough, and frankly a better negotiator than Trump."
