Rick Santorum squirms after CNN's Camerota busts him for trying to weasel out of calling Trump's wall a 'wall'

Conservative Rick Santorum tried to redefine the word "wall" during a CNN appearance on Friday, but was quickly called out by host Alisyn Camerota.

During the segment, Santorum tried to argue that many conservatives realize there won't be a massive concrete wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, and he said that most would simply be happy with adding barriers and fencing to certain locations along the border where illegal crossings are most likely to occur.

Camerota, however, said that was vastly different from what the White House has been saying.

"That is completely different from where we started and what Mike Pence said," Camerota pointed out. "Here is what he said: 'We will have no deal without a wall.'"

"Well, again, I think a wall can mean different things," Santorum replied.

"Wow," Camerota exclaimed. "Let's have some precision of language: A wall is a wall. We all know that!"

"Well, yes," admitted a struggling Santorum. "I guess, uh, again... a wall is a wall, you know, there are all different kinds of walls made out of different materials for different purposes. So, you know, I'm not too sure that the semantics is the problem here. The problem is Democrats do not want to give anything to the president."
