Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was once a strident critic of Donald Trump, but has recently become a loyal supporter, even acting as a courier to carry a letter from Trump to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

Today, Paul came out swinging against his soon-to-be colleague, Mitt Romney, who wrote a Washington Post op-ed criticizing Trump which was published Tuesday.

Paul accused Romney of virtue signaling and derided him as a "Big Government Republican."

Paul had previously described Trump as unqualified and even mocked his orange-hued skin, leading many to react on Twitter including a lot of jokes about a scuffle between Paul and his neighbor.
