President Donald Trump on Thursday released a dramatic video arguing in favor of building a wall along the border with Mexico.
The video features Trump narration over climactic music and a montage featuring a helicopter, uniformed Border Patrol agents, drugs, dirt bikes, a convoy of SUVs and an armored vehicle.
"This administration has presented Congress with a detailed proposal to secure the border and stop the criminal gangs, drug smugglers and human traffickers," he claimed, without mentioning his wall.
During the 2016 campaign, Trump promised a concrete wall paid for by Mexico. He is now arguing for a steel fence paid for by American taxpayers.
"Democrats in Congress have refused to acknowledge the crisis," he argued, referring to his manufactured crisis.
