On Thursday, President Donald Trump declared a national emergency to address immigration at the Southwest border. The move was widely seen as a way for the President to appease his followers after a deal in the House and Senate did not provide funding for a full border wall.

Right-wing pundit Ann Coulter slammed the President on Twitter in response to a tweet by Daniel Horowitz, senior editor at the Conservative Review.

"The goal of a national emergency is to end illegal immigration and cartel smuggling," wrote Daniel Horowitz. "Building 100-200 miles of fencing gradually will not do it. With this new amnesty, they UACs will come anywhere including points of entry and not only get amnesty for themselves but for those here."

In response, Coulter tweeted, "The goal is to get Trump's stupidest voters to say "HE'S FIGHTING!" No he's not. If he signs this bill, it's over."
