NRA TV had Daily Caller reporter Amber Athey on to attack a Muslim Democrat the right-wing has been attacking claiming anti-Semitism. Unfortunately, the NRA didn't think before choosing the commentator.
Media Matters researcher Timothy Johnson clipped the video of Athey alleging anti-Semitism and put it beside old tweets from Athey making fun of Jews.
"How many Jews can fit in a clown car? 1002. 2 in the seats and 1000 in the ash trays [sic]," she tweeted.
"What happens when a jew with an erection walks into a wall? they break their nose," was another tweet.
"Amber Athey has apologized," Johnson said, posting her official apology. "I will note that when I posted one of her antisemitic tweets in April 2018, she had a response to me that was not at all contrite. I guess this time something changed."
The NRA has a complicated history of anti-Semitic "accidents." Their Twitter account sent out an anti-Semitic meme previously posted by Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). He was forced to delete it prior to the NRA's post. It's one of many problems.
