Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) had an unlikely dust-up Friday with a group of young children over climate change policy, CNN reported. The veteran Democrat seemed to harshly criticize the children for their their requests that the longterm lawmaker back the ‘Green New Deal,’ accusing them of presenting an ultimatum.
In a video posted on Facebook by Sunrise Movement, a youth climate-change advocacy group, more than a dozen children and several adults meet with the senator to present her a letter they wrote and ask her to vote ‘yes’ on the deal.
“I’ve been doing this for 30 years…I know what I’m doing,” a defensive Feinstein said to the children.
“You come in here, and you say it has to be my way or the highway…I don’t respond to that,” she continued. “I’ve gotten elected, I just ran. I was elected by almost a million vote plurality. And I know what I’m doing. So you know, maybe people should listen a little bit.”

This is a fight for our generation's survival. Her reaction is why young people desperately want new leadership in Congress. pic.twitter.com/0zAkaxruMI

The arrogance. "Ive been doing this for 30 years."
Doing what, exactly?

This is not good. Senator Feinstein should be a bit more compassionate and have patience. I could think of at least 20 ways to respond and hers was off the charts disrespectful, degrading and just plain rude .

I am disgusted and disappointed in Senator Feinstein’s response to these children who are rightfully and genuinely concerned about their future under climate change. She is clearly out of touch with her constituents and I for one will not forget this incident next election!

This was not handled well. Kids of today are voters tomorrow and they have good memories.
