On Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) tweeted a jab at Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) after he tried to intimidate Michael Cohen on Twitter.
Cohn is scheduled to testify before Congress about his knowledge about President Donald Trump's business and money ties to Russia.
Gaetz tweeted about Cohen's relationship and personal family matters. Pelosi then tweeted that members of Congress should be "mindful" about the impact and consequences of their social media post.
"I encourage all Members to be mindful that comments made on social media or in the press can adversely affect the ability of House Committees to obtain the truthful and complete information necessary to fulfill their duties," she wrote.
"As a result, such statements can be construed as not reflecting credibly on the House and the Committee on Ethics should vigilantly monitor these types of statements, which may not be protected by the speech or debate clause," she added.
