Best actress nominee Melissa McCarthy masted the art of the eccentric royal when presenting at the Academy Awards Sunday.
Clad in layers of fur robes with at least one dozen stuffed rabbits attached, McCarthy detailed the importance of costume design with Brian Tyree Henry.
“These artists create a pastiche of textiles with authenticity yet never distract from the story,” McCarthy said while a hand-puppet rabbit nodded and waved its paws along with her. “Costume designers construct the looks that ground a character to a particular time and place in the subtlest — subtlest of ways.”
