While nobody outside the Department of Justice has read the report submitted by special counsel Robert Mueller, one Republican member of Congress was slammed online for suggesting President Donald Trump had been vindicated.
Utah Republican Chris Stewart took to Twitter on Friday to share the conclusions he has already taken from the report.
“The long-awaited Mueller Report has been completed. Early reporting appears to confirm what we’ve been saying for over a year: no collusion or conspiracy between Russia & the Trump campaign,” Stewart argued.
Many participants in the conversation were less than impressed with the former novelist’s conclusions.
Here is a sampling:
In case you had any doubt how brazenly shameless and dishonest the responses from elected Republicans are going to be in the coming days: FYI, there is no "early reporting". FFS. https://t.co/9UYVur4VNR

There is no early reporting!

I HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS! Seriously though, Mueller saying he doesn't recommend any further indictments does not confirm any of what you said. Just calm down and keep your partisan rantings off Fox News and CNN. All it does is make Utahns look bad.

There's no "early reporting", you lying dipshit. https://t.co/3CJZHhw7Mg

Oh, has Jared given you a stolen copy? Or did Barr send it over to you…doesn't matter. If Trump murdered my child you would be okay with it.

How would you know if only Barr and the special investigative team have seen it in the less-than-an-hour it's been released?

Have you seen the report? And what about the SDNY?

First react from Utah delegation on Mueller report. I haven't seen any "early reporting" that suggests anything like this, however. He must really want that air force job. #utpol https://t.co/OURAVfVaAG

What do you think all of those people were lying about? Truly, to suggest the 30+ indictments, 7 or so convictions and more relate to? Your take is so pedantic as to be dismissed out of hand as the lame efforts worthy of a zampolit, comrade Stewart. #NotUTValues #utpol

I’m going to ignore the absurd spin based on no actual information here and focus on the positive. Kudos to Rep. Stewart for calling for the release of the full report.
I agree the people deserve that. https://t.co/HodbH1mVPS
