Twitter users celebrated at the long-awaited release of special counsel Robert Mueller's report on alleged collusion between Russia and Donald Trump's campaign — and took a deep breath as they awaited what's next.
"Trump's tweets are going to be so incredibly f*cked up this weekend," Shareblue senior reporter Emily Singer tweeted. "Buckle up."
"The more tweets, the worse it is," she added.
"Doesn't life feel different now?" Lawfare editor-in-chief Ben Wittes mused.
As Politico's Marc Caputo noted, "the extremes of America’s left & right are setting expectations in opposite ways."
"My expectation is that both sides will be disappointed," another user wrote in response to Caputo.
Dave Weigel, a Washington Post reporter who's been personally called out by the president, offered his own "hot take."
"The Mueller report is more problematic for [Democrats] than [Republicans]," Weigel tweeted. "We know what Rs will do unless the report is devastating: Defend the president. But Ds have been punting Qs about impeachment etc until the report was done."
