Moments after 12 GOP senators joined in Democrats to pass a resolution to terminate Donald Trump's emergency resolution on the southern border, Twitter users erupted in mockery of the president for taking a big loss.
According to Reuters, "The 59-41 vote marks the second Senate rebuke of Trump in two days. Senators on Wednesday approved a resolution seeking to end U.S. support for the Saudi Arabia-led coalition in the war in Yemen, rejecting Trump’s policy toward the kingdom."
The embattled Trump's declining clout with his own party was not lost on social media, with one commenter reminding the president he also lost the popular vote in 2016 -- a sore subject for Trump.
Trump himself responded to the rebuke by simply tweeting: "VETO!"
