‘Must end now!’ Trump moans as investigators start probing his family’s sketchy business deals

President Donald Trump whined about the widening scope of investigations into his family’s alleged wrongdoing exposed by former attorney Michael Cohen.

The president tweeted out an attack against Cohen early Friday, claiming his congressional testimony had been “totally discredited” by a Fox News report about a book manuscript he had been shopping, and then he lashed out at investigations of the Trump Organization, his foundation and his inauguration.

“Oh’ I see!” Trump tweeted. “Now that the 2 year Russian Collusion case has fallen apart, there was no Collusion except bye Crooked Hillary and the Democrats, they say, ‘gee, I have an idea, let’s look at Trump’s finances and every deal he has ever done.”

“Let’s follow discredited Michael Cohen,” he added, “and the fraudulent and dishonest statements he made on Wednesday. No way, it’s time to stop this corrupt and illegally brought Witch Hunt. Time to start looking at the other side where real crimes were committed. Republicans have been abused long enough. Must end now!”

Chris Christie, the former New Jersey governor and former federal prosecutor, said Thursday night that the Southern District of New York was building a case against the president for when he leaves office.

Cohen testified Wednesday that U.S. Attorneys in the SDNY were investigating potential crimes that he was not authorized to publicly reveal to lawmakers.

In the wake of President Trump's less-than-stellar campaign rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, campaign aides scrambled to reschedule another one in order to redeem themselves, setting their sights in the state of New Hampshire for their next event.

But the event was abruptly called off, thanks to an incoming tropical storm that never materialized. But according to inside sources speaking to POLITICO, the cancelation was more due to concerns about attendance -- a concern that underscores a challenge for the Trump campaign: how to satiate Trump's need for big crowds in the midst of a pandemic.

Florida State Rep. Anthony Sabatini (R) is facing a backlash online after appearing Wednesday on CNN to argue against mask mandates, which are intended to slow the spread of COVID-19.
