Organizers of a Navy SEALs gala rescinded an award to Patriots owner Robert Kraft in the wake of his prostitution arrest — so he skipped the event entirely.
The New York Post's Page Six reported that Kraft was initially going to be the recipient of the prestigious Patriot Award at the Navy SEAL Foundation's gala in Manhattan on Thursday for his donations to the charity.
Sources close to the event said the Patriots owner's name was taken off the website in the wake of his arrest at a Florida massage parlor that allegedly was the front for a sex trafficking ring.
Sources close to both Kraft and the Navy SEAL Foundation said he chose not to attend the gala so as not to "distract" from its work.
He was replaced on the event's bill by former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, Page Six noted.
