Republicans pick Trump 2020 campaign jobs instead of White House to avoid the 'toxic' atmosphere: report

President Donald Trump's 2020 reelection campaign is in full swing as operations are up and running in Washington D.C., and New York City. However, Republicans have noticed that there is a stark difference between working for the campaign and working in the White House.

Trump has failed to hire key White House staff members, and his administration is often seen as a rotating door of people. However, Buzzfeed News is reporting that the campaign, as of now, is working like a well-oiled machine.

"Veteran political operatives and top hill staffers — the type of experienced Republicans who have shown little interest in working for the Trump White House — have already joined the 2020 campaign and many more are expected to in the coming months," reporter Tarini Parti said.

Republicans have been hesitant to join Trump's team directly out of fear that it would ruin their reputation.

"The talent pool is a lot higher than the people willing to go to the White House," a source told Parti.

"You're working for the president, but not in as toxic of an environment and for an entity that doesn't tarnish your resume the way the current White House would," a former White House official told Parti.

Adding, "On the campaign of adults, you're honing your skills, bettering yourself, and making connections. In the White House of children, you're wasting your time playing whack a mole every day."

The campaign has already fundraised $100 million. However, GOP strategist Rick Tyler said that people were joining the campaign for the money.

“What else could it be? The honor?” he said.
