Some political pundits are quite capable of having strong disagreements without becoming hostile with one another. Former GOP Congressman Joe Scarborough and liberal Mika Brzezinski often butt heads in a good-natured way on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” and conservative S.E. Cupp (now with CNN) has had many friendly but vigorous debates with Bill Maher on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” But on ABC’s “The View,” NeverTrump Republican Meghan McCain has, more than once, become genuinely angry when liberal co-host Joy Behar and others disagreed with her.

Here are some of McCain’s worst meltdowns and temper tantrums on “The View.”'

1. McCain attacked Behar for off-camera relationship with Ann Coulter

As much of a far-right extremist as Ann Coulter is, the author is known for having friendly relationships with some liberals off-screen—most notably, Bill Maher. But in January, McCain refused to accept the idea that Behar and Coulter could be cordial outside of political debates. When Behar complained that Coulter and AM radio host Rush Limbaugh had way too much influence on President Donald Trump and that “President Coulter is running the country right now,” McCain interjected, “Give her a call, Joy. She’s your buddy.” Behar responded that Coulter is “really a comedian,” but McCain angrily insisted, “You have a close relationship with her…. She was in your video for your 20th anniversary. She loves you, Joy.”

2. McCain had a meltdown during George H.W. Bush tribute

When “The View” remembered the late President George H.W. Bush in December, Behar made a Bush/Trump comparison and made it clear that she had a much higher opinion of Bush 41. But McCain angrily declared, “I don’t want to talk about Trump”—and Behar responded that she was going to make her point whether McCain liked it or not. The tension between McCain and Behar was so great that according to the Daily Mail, Behar described McCain as an “entitled bitch” off the air and threatened to leave “The View” if “this shit doesn’t stop.” Behar reportedly said, “Get this bitch under control!.... I’ve tolerated a lot of shit on this show, but I’m at my wits’ end with this entitled bitch.”

3. Behar told McCain to control her ‘hissyfit’

Getting a word in edgewise can be a challenge on talk show panels; it’s the nature of the beast. Bill Maher once joked that he had a hard time completing a sentence on his own show. But when Behar was discussing Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s presidential campaign on “The View” in February, McCain became upset because she felt that Behar was dominating the conversation. And Behar responded, “If you’re going to have a hissyfit, we can’t continue.”

4. McCain had meltdown over Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ ‘socialism’

During a July 2018 discussion of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Behar tried to shed some light on what the congresswoman-to-be meant by “democratic socialism.” Behar totally got it: Ocasio-Cortez’ views are really liberalism—as in Swedish liberalism, Danish liberalism or Norwegian liberalism—and Ocasio-Cortez isn’t promoting actual Marxist-Leninist or Maoist ideology.

Regardless, McCain didn’t even have the courtesy to let Behar finishing making her point. McCain became hysterical, ranting and raving about the misery in Venezuela and refusing to see the enormous differences between Venezuela under President Nicolas Maduro and the governments of Sweden, Denmark and Norway (which, truth be told, are much more capitalist than socialist).
