Fox News host Pete Hegseth on Monday argued that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) had undermined her Green New Deal by hosting a 5k race in Queens over the weekend.

"Correct me if I'm wrong," Fox Business host Ashley Webster began. "But a lot of those runners had no idea where their money was actually going. And they did not think it was going straight into her campaign."

Without presenting any evidence, Hegseth agreed.

"They did not know that!" the Fox & Friends host opined. "I want to know, did every finisher of that race get a participation ribbon? That's her philosophy. There could not be a winner of this fun run! That would be the 1 percent, the elite, you're not allowed to do that. Everyone finishes with the same time."

"And don't breath too heavily because it warms the atmosphere," Webster laughed.

Hegseth posited that Ocasio-Cortez "doesn't care" about climate change "because she thinks she is the Green New Deal."

"In their mind, everyone wants to give to comrade Cortez because she's the future," he added. "She's the chosen one, according to herself."

"If she's the darling of the far left, where does that leave Joe Biden?" Webster sighed.
