Democrats in the House of Representatives are getting ready to drop the hammer on Attorney General Bill Barr Wednesday by subpoenaing special counsel Robert Mueller's entire report.

Politico's Kyle Cheney reports that Democrats will vote to subpoena the Mueller report on Wednesday and are also planning to vote on subpoenas for multiple former Trump administration officials, including former political strategist Steve Bannon, former White House counsel Don McGahn, former chief of staff Reince Priebus, and former communications director Hope Hicks.

The aggressive move to subpoena the report comes despite assurances by Barr that he will make as much of the report available as he can by mid-April.

According to Politico, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) says he's been "disturbed" by the way that Barr has slow-walked the release of the report, even while unilaterally declaring President Donald Trump innocent of obstruction of justice.

Nadler also slammed Barr in a scathing New York Times op-ed published Monday in which he called out the attorney general for usurping Congressional authority.

“By offering us his version of events in lieu of the report, the attorney general, a recent political appointee, undermines the work and the integrity of his department,” he argued. “He also denies the public the transparency it deserves. We require the full report — the special counsel’s words, not the attorney general’s summary or a redacted version.”
