A federal judge agreed to release Coast Guard Lt. Christopher Hasson after prosecutors failed to meet the standards to prove he was plotting terror attacks or a political assassination, Washington Post justice reporter Justin Jouvenal tweeted Thursday.
The white nationalist was uncovered to have a hit list of Democrats and Supreme Court justices as well as an arsenal of weapons and ammunition. He was arrested outside of Washington, DC. Upon search of his computer, investigators found that he had researched addresses of justices and the best gun to kill African-Americans.
Hasson was being held until prosecutors could gather enough information to file terror charges. Clearly, they failed in that respect.
BREAKING: Federal judge agrees to release Coast Guard Lt. Christopher Hasson, who was accused of plotting terror attack by federal prosecutors. Judge says govt. has not charged him with terrorism and murder and doesn’t plan to, so no grounds to hold.

Hasson if you remember, was caught with an absolute arsenal of weapons and intended to target and murder politicians and media figures. One can only imagine what his fate would’ve been if he even just downloaded an ISIS meme. https://t.co/eCgELTAKeR

This man is being released from prison after court documents were filed this week alleging Hasson, accused of plotting a mass killing, searched for Supreme Court justices’ addresses and looked for “the best gun to kill African Americans.” https://t.co/8LlFr6SI2N https://t.co/bj8EzRwa4i
