President Donald Trump is telegraphing to the American people that he is "terrified" of impeachment, a former Republican member of Congress argued on Tuesday.
Former Rep. David Jolly (R-FL) was interviewed by MSNBC's Brian Williams on "The 11th Hour."
"David Jolly, I don't want to put words in your mouth, but did I hear you with Nicolle Wallace this afternoon saying that in effect in your humble opinion the Democrats have been caught a little bit flat-footed by the arrival of the Mueller report, the tonnage in it and the counter-argument which is just short phrases from the president?" Williams asked.
"Yeah, I don't think they've embraced the urgency of the moment," Jolly replied.
" Nancy Pelosi was overseas, we haven't seen proof of life of Chuck Schumer and Steny Hoyer said, 'Eh, the report's the report, we'll have an election in eighteen months,'" he summarized.
"Brian, I think what's going on today, Donald Trump is telling the American people he's terrified of being impeached," Jolly concluded.
