President Donald Trump is attempting to force a Federal Reserve nominee through Senate confirmation that lacks the votes to be confirmed, a Republican senator publicly explained on Tuesday.

Sen. Jodi Ernst (R-IA) said that White House should not even waste time on the nomination of Stephen Moore.

"No, he does not have the votes," Ernst said. "He would not have enough votes."

"Don't bother sending (the nomination) up, that's all I gotta say," she added.
