Ex-CIA director: 'The Trump ship is a sinking one' but the 'rats' won't abandon it

On Wednesday, former CIA Director John Brennan intimated a warning on MSNBC to Republicans in the wake of the revelation that Attorney General William Barr mischaracterized special counsel Robert Mueller's report: if you cover for Trump, you will go down with him.

"Barr has to be interrogated," said Brennan, "and then Bob Mueller should get up before Congress, and Congress has to do its job."

"I'm still waiting for those Republicans to realize that the Trump ship is a sinking one," Brennan continued, "and there are still rats on that ship, and there are individuals who are not going to separate themselves from Trump. But they do so at their own peril."

"They need to fulfill their obligations, irrespective of their political affiliation," said Brennan. "And they need to do it now, rather than this continued sinking of not just the presidency but of these institutions of government that we rely on to keep us safe and secure."
