President Donald Trump's counsel Rudy Giuliani received widespread outrage for his now-canceled plan to go to the Ukraine and enlist its incoming government to help him pursue a conspiracy theory about former Vice President Joe Biden. Even Trump's own campaign distanced itself from the scheme, and the president's staunch defenders in Congress, like Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), didn't think it was a good idea to openly encourage another foreign government to interfere in a presidential election.
