'They're saying you're not fighting!' MSNBC host presses top Dem after break with party

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s strategy for fighting back against the Trump administration was subjected to a thorough grilling from MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, who didn’t hide his feelings on the Democratic leader's performance so far.

The exchange unfolded Thursday night on Hayes’ eponymous show, “All In With Chris Hayes,” just as the New York lawmaker announced that he would not seek to block a GOP-led continuing resolution to restore government funding. The move will likely help House Republicans advance their funding bill and avoid a government shutdown Saturday.

'Do you like bullying?' GOP rep cornered at town hall as crowd shouts 'Deport Musk!'

Rep. Chuck Edwards (R-NC) became the latest in a long string of GOP representatives this year to face angry questions about Trump from constituents at a town hall on Thursday — and one constituent in particular demanded he answer for the president's controversial foreign policy moves.

"Do you support the annexation of Canada and/or Greenland?" asked the constituent. "And this is a yes or no question. I don't want you to wander off into the woods, I don't want to hear about your latest week in your office ... so I'm trying to get your opinion on this as a yes or no. Do you support Trump on annexing Canada or Greenland, and do you like the way he treats the premier or the president of Canada, calling him 'governor'? Is that the way you'd do as a diplomat? Is that, is that the way the United States should act to our closest neighbors?"

'Stupid fight': Conservative blasts Trump for action 'too absurd to believe'

One conservative commentator is arguing that President Donald Trump's administration is making a major error by attempting to deport an activist who has yet to be charged with any crimes.

In a recent op-ed for the far-right Daily Caller, author John Loftus tore into Trump's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for its prosecution of pro-Palestine activist Mahmoud Khalil. As a graduate student at Columbia University, Khalil played a prominent role in the 2024 protests on the Ivy League school's New York City campus. Those protests became a national story amid Israel's military campaign in Gaza following Hamas' October 7 attack.

'Bad idea': AOC warns Schumer and other Dems poised to make a 'tremendous mistake'

Progressive Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) doubled down on urging Democrats to reject the House GOP's stopgap funding bill, calling it a "bad idea" and a "mistake" if Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) votes for cloture.

Ocasio-Cortez opposes cloture on the Republican spending bill for several reasons, including that voting for cloture is equivalent to voting for the bill itself, as it would end debate and allow the bill to move forward for a final vote.

'That's capitulating!' Dem senator slams colleagues who want to cave on GOP bill

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) argued Thursday that Democrats would be "capitulating" to President Donald Trump if they allowed the continuing resolution passed by the House of Representatives this week to sail through the Senate.

In an interview with CNN's Manu Raju, Booker said letting the government shut down was preferable to allowing Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk continue to shut down entire federal agencies without any oversight or authorization from the legislative branch.
