Trump's 'lethargic and incomprehensible rambling' about 'Biden circles' baffles internet
In a speech to the Detroit Economics Club on Thursday, Donald Trump insulted the town where he was speaking and appeared to go off on a nonsensical commentary about President Joe Biden's "circles" and the 2020 election being stolen.
"It's so simple. I mean, ya know, this isn't like Elon and his rocket ships that land within 12 inches on the moon where they want it to land. Or he gets the engines back. That was the first — I really — I said — who the hell did that? I saw engines three or four years ago. These things were coming cylinders, no wings, no nothing, and they're coming down very slowly, landing on a raft in the middle of the ocean someplace with a circle. Boom! Reminded me of the Biden circles that he used to have, right? He'd have eight circles and he couldn't fill 'em up. But then I heard he beat us with the popular vote. I don't know. I don't know. He couldn't fill up the eight circles. I always loved those circles. They were so beautiful. They were so beautiful to look at."
Trump continued to ramble about the circles.

The comments prompted many questions from those viewing the clips from the rally or watching it live.
Roger Sollenberger, senior political reporter at The Daily Beast, discussed Trump's leaps from subject to subject and recalled the image that Trump had in his mind.
"So Trump says something that reminds him of SpaceX rockets and he decides to describe them landing on targets, then that image makes him recall another image of circles on the ground—social distancing at Biden campaign events 4 years ago—and he decides to talk about that," wrote Sollenberger.
"On Democracy" podcast host Fred Wellman asked simply, "What the f--- is he talking about?
Mike Rothschild, a journalist and author who has concentrated on researching and writing about conspiracy theories for more than a decade, took to X to say that Trump's "lethargic and incomprehensible rambling" that went on for 90 seconds was before a "stone cold silent" crowd. However, he noted, there was a moment when someone clapped when hearing Elon Musk's name.
"But sure, let's give him the nuclear codes and a massive army that he can use to be a dictator on day one," he said with sarcasm.
National security lawyer Bradley Moss asked if this is what Republican strategist and commentator Eric Erickson meant when he recalled, "'working hard to win it,' if I understand him correctly."
But all Moss said he saw was, "an old man, drowning in bronzer, rambling about nothing."
