Rep. Lauren Boebert's (R-CO) campaign dropped $317.48 at the bar owned by the Democrat she was seen fondling during the family-friendly Beetlejuice musical, Politico found.
The campaign gave bar owner, Quinn Gallagher, the cash at the end of July according to her campaign finance reports. The Aspen establishment, Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar, hosted a burlesque and drag show in January. It's unclear if Boebert knew Gallagher, who grew up in Bobert's hometown, during the January event. According to Boebert, they'd been dating for a few months.
The Beetlejuice incident unfolded in September when Boebert was seen vaping during the show. A video shows a pregnant woman sitting behind her asking her not to smoke. Boebert ignored her. The videos go on to show the two getting frisky in their chairs during the show. The incident drew jeers about Republican family values.
At first, she denied the incident happened, but once videos were released showing the ordeal she was forced to acknowledge the reality and ultimately apologize.
The gay-friendly bar was given the money as part of "event catering," the Federal Election Commission reports reveal.
Boebert said that she and Gallagher broke up because she found out he was a Democrat.
Boebert recently finalized her divorce after her husband confessed to cheating on her. She was spotted crouching and smoking in a Walmart parking lot.
