Here's why this far-right congressman's family is going after the American Dental Association

The family of far-right Rep. Paul Gosar has long opposed him. They filmed an ad urging voters to replace him in 2018, and have suggested he is mentally unstable.

According to The Arizona Republic, the Gosars have a new push to force out the congressman besmirching their family name — and it involves the American Dental Association.

Gosar, a former dentist, has been a key recipient of their campaign spending, and his family wants that to end. All told, per the report, dental groups and their members "have given the former dentist's campaign or his affiliated political action committee more than $224,000 over his six terms, according to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics."

"In their latest effort, the siblings describe Gosar as 'my extremely dishonest brother who lied about the election being stolen' and who 'was key to inciting the traitorous riot at the Capitol.' They note that the American Dental Association members and political action committee are top donors over his career," said the report. "'It's time to let them know we don't want money supporting insurrection,' Jennifer Gosar says in the video."

Gosar is one of many GOP lawmakers implicated in the pro-Trump invasion of the U.S. Capitol. He appeared at "Stop the Steal" events and has been accused of actively aiding some of the people and groups who went on to stage the riot, something he vehemently denies. However, he has a long career of inflammatory behavior even before that, at one point suggesting the neo-Nazi march on Charlottesville, Virginia was a false flag staged by Jewish billionaire George Soros.
