Former President Barack Obama resorted to expletives to express his disdain for Donald Trump Jr.'s intellect, Dr. Anthony Fauci's newly released diary reveal.

Obama apparently sought to comfort Fauci in November 2021 after Trump Jr. decided to sell merchandise mocking Fauci with slogans referencing false claims about puppy experiments, reported The Daily Beast.

"Obama reassured him that Trump Jr. is 'a f---ing moron' before apologizing for using crude language," the Beast reported.

"[Obama] went on to say that Donald Trump was a hopeless idiot who was a pathologic liar,” Fauci added. “He was very upset that none of the moderate Republicans were actually speaking out on my behalf and were distancing themselves from all of this terrible, slanderous behavior against me.”

The diary, spanning more than 1,000 pages, was released by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who has long feuded with Fauci and is pushing to pin the blame on him for the pandemic's origins, including unproven allegations tied to a lab-leak theory in China,

Fauci's office reportedly received thousands of hostile calls within days of Trump Jr. amplifying the false claims, forcing staff to stop answering the phone. Fauci has remained a frequent target of MAGA criticism over his pandemic-era advocacy for vaccines, masking and lockdowns.

Tensions between Fauci and Trump date back to the pandemic's early days, when the two frequently disagreed publicly.

This week, Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right over 100 times during Senate testimony, accusing Paul of orchestrating the hearing solely to secure statements that could support his repeated calls for Fauci's imprisonment.
