Then Vice-President Joe Biden (C) and sons Hunter Biden (L) and Beau Biden walk in then-President Barack Obama's Inaugural Parade January 20, 2009 in Washington, DC(AFP)
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story reported the statement came from Trump's campaign. It was, in fact, a spoof.
A spoof statement claiming to be from Donald Trump stated Tuesday that he would pardon Hunter Biden if he is elected to the presidency.
The statement, which turned out to be shared by X user @RichardHanania, claimed the former president was on the younger Biden's team.
Biden was found guilty on three counts Tuesday after a jury found he applied for a gun and checked a box saying he wasn't an addict — despite using drugs at the time.
"It is hard to blame him for wanting a gun, which he has a God-given right to have under the 2nd Amendment," the spoof said.
It went on to call it the "best Amendment of them all."
