The Texas Republican petitioned the state Supreme Court to intervene in the case of Kate Cox, who sued for a court-ordered abortion after her unborn child was diagnosed with a fatal genetic condition that put her own health at risk, and the "Morning Joe" host shamed his intrusion on the 31-year-old mother's personal health situation.

In a debate over whether Donald Trump's fantasies about having a dictatorship were serious enough to warrant the past week of concern, former Fox host Geraldo Rivera said that the focus should instead be put on Republican lawmakers in the House and Senate who continued to enable Trump.

Speaking to CNN's Jim Acosta with former Mike Pence adviser Olivia Troye, Rivera said that they should be focusing on how Trump has already behaved like a dictator.

Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) said that he will release the Jan. 6, 2021 video for the world to see, and it will include clips that will jeopardize the security of the Capitol, Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) said on Sunday.

Johnson said he would release every bit of the video, but then said he'll be blurring the faces of the insurrectionists because he doesn't want them to be captured by law enforcement. Law enforcement already has the video, however.

In a discussion between Geraldo Rivera and Olivia Troye, host Jim Acosta couldn't help but blame Republican lawmakers for being the ones to encourage Donald Trump's dictatorship fantasies.

On Thursday, CNN's Manu Raju interviewed several lawmakers asking about Trump's comment that he wanted to be a dictator for "one day" so he could build his wall and drill wherever he wanted.

A former prosecutor is debunking Donald Trump's claim that he can't testify on Monday because of the gag order.

Responding to Trump's lawyer, Alina Habba, saying she wouldn't recommend testifying with a gag order in place. But CNN legal analyst Elie Honig called it a fake excuse.

It didn't take long for the former president to withdraw his lawyer's promise.

MSNBC news reporter Adam Reiss explained on Sunday that Donald Trump "couldn't control himself" the last time he tried to testify before the New York fraud trial. It's unclear if that's the reason Trump withdrew from testifying on Monday, but there are some educated guesses from two analysts.

"We had this exact conversation as to whether or would he not testify on Monday," said Sunday host Yasmin Vossoughian. "You said to me, listen, at this point, he's going to testify. But you really never know with the former president. We will really know, and he actually shows up on Monday morning for that testimony. You predicted, accurately, that he was not going to be there. He's not going to testify."

At 11:59 a.m. PST, the University of Nevada Las Vegas posted on social media calling for a shelter in place with the note "RUN-HIDE-FIGHT."

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) continued her media blitz this week by speaking to MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace, a previous White House aide from George W. Bush's administration. Wallace has since abandoned the Republican Party — blaming Donald Trump.

Liz Cheney's book "Oath and Honor" was released Tuesday and exposes some former colleagues as knowing full well that there was no election fraud in 2020 and that Trump lost. Others are shown by Cheney to have been too scared of Donald Trump to stand up for themselves.
