France on Friday imposed its highest terror alert after a knife-wielding attacker killed one person and critically injured three others in a school in the country's north. Although police arrested the attacker, who is believed to be a former student at the Gambetta school in Arras, Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne said she decided to implement the "emergency attack" measures anyway. This level of alert can be set up immediately after an attack or when an identified and unlocalized terrorist group becomes active.
