Germany is increasing its humanitarian aid for the Palestinian Territories by a further €38 million ($40.7 million) in light of the suffering of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip as the Israel-Hamas war rages on.

Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock made the announcement on Saturday during her continuing diplomatic tour of the Middle East after talks with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh in Ramallah in the West Bank. Germany will thus provide a total of over €160 million for the Palestinian Territories this year.
