Busted: Vivek Ramaswamy campaign took money from a notorious Islamophobe

A prominent Washington state business owner with a history of discrimination against Muslims and unmarried people has donated to billionaire Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy’s 2024 campaign.

Peter Zieve, CEO and founder of aerospace company Electroimpact, gave $250 to Ramaswamy’s Vivek 2024 campaign committee on May 28, according to Federal Election Commission records reviewed by Raw Story.

Violent extremist lied to FBI about participation in Jan. 6 riot: government

William Beals, a violent Three Percenter and neo-Nazi ally who has menaced drag shows in Tennessee this year, lied to the FBI about his involvement in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, the government alleges in an affidavit unsealed today.

Federal law enforcement arrested Beals last week on charges related to Jan. 6, as first reported by Raw Story. Beals is charged with knowingly and willfully making a materially false statement, stealing the property of the U.S. government and disorderly conduct in the U.S. Capitol, along with other violations.

Feds warn Trump about excessive campaign donations — again

From donations of nine cents to $3,300, the Federal Election Commission has again flagged hundreds of apparently excessive contributions from MAGA nation to former President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.

In a letter sent Monday, the FEC flagged 27 donors with excessive contributions to the Donald J. Trump For President 2024 Inc. campaign committee in a letter sent on Monday, It asked the campaign to reply by October 2.

Raw Story files lawsuit against the Pentagon and Navy

WASHINGTON — Raw Story today filed a federal lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Department of the Navy following the agencies’ refusal to release records related to a former U.S. Marine and avowed neo-Nazi.

An unused government fund intended to pay for presidential elections grew by more than $3 million between May 1 and June 30 — the latest influx of taxpayer-funded money that will now likely sit a bureaucratic black hole for what could be years or even decades, according to a Raw Story analysis of U.S. Treasury records.
