Republican lawmakers are reportedly fed up with housing official Bill Pulte, with some privately dismissing him as “a nut,” Politico reports. Pulte, now a central player in Donald Trump’s fight against the Federal Reserve, has sparked turmoil inside the administration with his aggressive attacks on Fed officials. The tension boiled over last week when Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confronted Pulte at a Georgetown event, threatening to punch him in the face over claims Pulte had been badmouthing him to Trump. While Pulte remains one of Trump’s fiercest social media attack dogs, GOP lawmakers appear to be siding with Bessent, calling him the “adult in the room” on economic policy.
