In addition to serving as a senior adviser in Donald Trump's first administration, Ivanka Trump often appeared at rallies during his 2020 reelection campaign. But four years later, she wasn't nearly as visible during the 2024 election — and now that her father is returning to the White House, Ivanka Trump is expressing no interest in having an official role in his second administration.
Instead, she has been prioritizing her own business activities over MAGA politics.
During a two-hour interview with the "Skinny Confidential" vodcast, Ivanka Trump (who now lives in Miami with her husband Jared Kushner) emphasized that her "role" during her father's second presidency will be strictly "supportive."

The president-elect's daughter told hosts Lauryn Bosstick and Michael Bosstick, "I'm most looking forward to just being able to show up for him as a daughter and be there for him, to take his mind off things — and like watch a movie with him or watch a sports game, to know that he can be with me and be himself, and just relax."
In her contrast to her brother Donald Trump Jr. — who has become a prominent figure in MAGA World — Ivanka Trump told Lauryn and Michael Bosstick, "I hate politics…. there is a darkness to that world that I don't really want to welcome into mine….. The fight, that was never me."
During the interview, Ivanka Trump recalled her four years in the first Trump White House and said, "I went through years of craziness."
Ivanka Trump told the hosts, "It's the world's loneliest position, the enormity of the decisions you're making on a daily basis, how transactional everyone is with you. So it's a very lonely perch.'
