President Donald Trump revealed his true colors during his speech at the United Nations on Tuesday, according to one Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist.

David Cay Johnson, who won multiple Pulitzers for his investigative work about the U.S. tax code, discussed Trump's speech at the U.N. during an interview with Times Radio on Wednesday.

"Trump's problem is that he ran for office saying he was going to do all sorts of magical things," Johnson said. "I'll end the war in Ukraine in one day. I don't even have to take office. One day. Well, it's been close to a year, and he's gotten exactly nowhere."

"So he's trying to figure out what to do here so that people don't see him for who he knows he really is, which is an ignorant clown, a con man," he continued. "Listen, I've gotten a lot of conmen sent to prison in my career as a journalist. He's the most skilled conman by far. I've never known anybody in his league as a con artist."

During his speech, Trump told foreign leaders that their countries are "going to hell" because of migration. He also claimed to be "very good at predicting stuff" like economic disasters.

Johnson also pointed to Trump's handling of Russia's war in Ukraine as evidence of his "incompetence" as a leader.

"Trump's incompetence here and the incompetence of people around him is only making this worse," Johnson said.
