Read it: McCarthy uploads 99-page deal over the debt ceiling

According to the details in the 99-page debt ceiling agreement, the Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and President Joe Biden agreed on the idea of the debt ceiling not being an issue again until after the 2024 election.

Another is to increase defense spending and veteran funding. The Republican-led House passed a bill that would have cut veterans' spending, and Biden refused to increase defense spending if the House was forcing him to kill food stamps. The two parties came off of both.

Reporters reveal some Republicans don't understand what a debt default means

Acosta cited an interview he conducted Saturday with Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), who said he's voted for shutdowns and would vote again this week.

Kevin McCarthy dispels right-wing conspiracy that Biden has dementia

"He's got dementia," claims radio host Joe Rogan about President Joe Biden.

Donald Trump joined in the attacks, crafting a whole new conspiracy theory: "Joe Biden's second bout of Covid, sometimes referred to as the China Virus, was sadly misdiagnosed by his doctors. He instead has Dementia, but is happily recovering well," Trump wrote. "Joe is thinking of moving, part time, to one of those beautiful Wisconsin Nursing Homes, where almost 100% of the residents miraculously, and for the first time in history, had the strength and energy to vote — even if those votes were cast illegally."

Analyst accuses Fox News of keeping Oversight Republicans' sketchy 'FBI whistleblower' claim alive

After struggling to find any scandal they could link to President Joe Biden, House Oversight Committee chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) asked for a 90-day extension on his investigation. The last thing they uncovered was several different LLCs owned by several president's family members. It prompted analysts to question the significance, given Donald Trump's family has control over 500 of LLCs, all inter-linked, and in many different countries, CNBC reported in 2018.

At the same time, Republicans have been cagey on an interview that the FBI did in June 2020 with someone who had an accusation involving Biden. Neither the FBI nor the GOP will say anything about it, Washington Post columnist Philip Bump wrote Sunday. In fact, Republicans won't even tell Democrats what they know about it or how they learned the details about the investigation.

Trump lawyers' 'desperate' Merrick Garland gambit was a sign of 'fear': former US attorney

According to former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade, a letter from two of Donald Trump's lawyers to Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding an audience to discuss special counsel Jack Smith should not be taken seriously by anyone, and is a ploy that will not help them if and when DOJ indictments come down.

In a column for MSNBC, the attorney claimed the letter — and the way it was shared on social media — is a sign of desperation and fear as Smith reportedly is coming to the conclusion of one of his many investigations into the former president.

Getting right to the point, McQuade wrote that after Garland's refusal, "Trump will wail that this rejection proves once again that he is a victim of witch hunts and hoaxes. The predictability of Trump’s game would be tiresome if it were not so harmful to public trust in government institutions."

The ex-U.S. attorney also noted a reference to President Joe Biden and an investigation into his son Hunter's business activities which she described as a sad Trump attempt to make the case to his followers that, "...everyone is corrupt, so support the leader who shares your values."

'You have no spine': Conservatives clobber Kevin McCarthy for cooperating with President Biden

United States House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-California)'s deal with President Joe Biden to increase the Treasury Department's debt ceiling and prevent a default contains revised "work requirements" for recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.

"New time limits would be phased in for people without children up to age 54 to receive food assistance through SNAP if they do not complete certain work requirements. Under current law, those time limits only apply to people up to 49 years old. Those expanded limits will sunset in 2030," Politico explained on Sunday.

'Start the Kevin McCarthy death-clock' after compromise with Biden: Rick Wilson

Appearing late Saturday night on MSNBC after it was announced that President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) had reached an agreement "in principle' on a budget deal, former GOP strategist Rick Wilson claimed this could be the beginning of the end for McCathy's speakership.

Sitting in on a panel with guest host Michael Steele, Wilson suggested that McCarthy's decision to compromise with the president to avoid a default that would spin the economy into chaos will not go over well with far-right members of his House caucus who could make a motion to "vacate the chair" to express their displeasure.

Asked by host Steele about what comes next, Wilson stated it was a win for the White House which will not make conservatives happy.

"Great night for Joe Biden, great night for the White House even though I think their messaging has been kind of tentative the past few weeks" the Lincoln Project founder began. "I think though we are now going to start the Kevin McCarthy death-clock. He has certainly got a very angry part of his caucus tonight who are probably burning up his phone no matter how good it is for the country not to default."

"It's not going to please the chaos caucus in the GOP," he added.

'Crazy cuckoo MAGA people' could sink debt ceiling deal: Dem strategist

After news broke on Saturday that President Joe Biden and United States House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) struck an agreement to avert an unprecedented default, Democratic strategist Kurt Bardella explained how Biden outmaneuvered McCarthy.

Biden said in a statement late Saturday night that "the agreement represents a compromise, which means not everyone gets what they want. That's the responsibility of governing. And, this agreement is good news for the American people, because it prevents what could have been a catastrophic default and would have led to an economic recession, retirement accounts devastated, and millions of jobs lost."
