Conservative activist Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, has reportedly joined a group of conservatives in calling to delay elections for Republican leadership in Congress.

Following the results of the 2022 midterm elections, many expected Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to be elected Speaker of the House while Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) would continue on in his role of Senate minority leader.

Elizabeth Warren says debt ceiling should be abolished to end GOP threat to 'blow up the economy'

Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Sunday said congressional Democrats should use the upcoming lame-duck session to eliminate the U.S. debt ceiling for good, warning that leaving the borrowing limit intact gives Republicans an opening to hold the economy hostage.

"I'd get rid of the debt ceiling altogether," Warren (D-Mass.) told NBC's Chuck Todd, arguing that the arbitrary limit "serves no function except to create leverage for people who are willing to blow up the economy."
