FBI says Donald Trump combined top secret documents with magazines and personal correspondence

Twice-impeached former president Donald Trump mixed personal correspondence and magazines with classified documents, according to the FBI.

The FBI raided his Palm Beach residence Mar-a-Lago on Aug. 8 and found that 14 of the 15 boxes recovered from Trump's home contained multiple classified and top secret documents combined with magazines, personal correspondence and miscellaneous newspapers.

RNC abruptly fires spokesman who previously managed Black Voices for Trump: report

On Friday, POLITICO reported that the Republican National Committee has fired Paris Dennard, their spokesperson and a key former surrogate for former President Donald Trump who worked on racial minority outreach.

"Dennard had been serving as a national spokesman and director of Black media affairs for the committee. He started working for the RNC in March 2020," reported Alex Isenstadt. "'Paris Dennard no longer works for the RNC. We don’t comment on personnel matters,' RNC chief of staff Mike Reed said in a statement. One person familiar with the firing said it took place earlier this week."

Judge dismisses Arizona election deniers’ lawsuit demanding a hand count of Nov. ballots: report

Federal Judge John Tuchi ruled on Friday that November's midterm election in Arizona will not be required to be conducted by a hand count.

The lawsuit was filed by GOP gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake and secretary of state nominee Mark Finchem, the Tuscon Star reported.

'The former president is going to be prosecuted' says ex-FBI top attorney

Andrew Weissmann, the former General Counsel of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, says former president Donald Trump will be indicted, based on his reading of the unsealed redacted affidavit used to obtain the “search and seize” warrant for Mar-a-Lago, unsealed by a federal judge Friday at noon.

“I have to say, when I read this today my big overarching takeaway is – and I know this is just a prediction and speculation, but I say it’s an educated one – is that the former president is going to be prosecuted,” said Weissmann, who began his DOJ career as a federal prosecutor successfully trying Mafia crime boss cases.

This Friday, the Department of Justice released the affidavit used to justify the FBI's search of Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort. Axios reporters Erin Dohert and Alayna Treene wrote that there's been a "shift" in Trumpworld over the last few days in the wake of the search.

"...particularly after conservative John Solomon published a May 10 letter from the National Archives that revealed Trump took more than 700 pages of highly classified material with him after leaving office," their report stated.

Politico has obtained a list showing the GOP mega-donors who "funneled anonymous contributions to former U.N ambassador Nikki Haley’s nonprofit as she lays the groundwork for a prospective 2024 presidential bid."

Donald Trump has filed an appeal seeking to dismiss a civil suit filed by a Capitol Police officer on Friday. The lawsuit accuses the former president of inciting the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, which resulted in several deaths and 140 injured police officers.

Biden approval skyrockets – now higher than Trump, Obama, Clinton, Carter, or Reagan

President Joe Biden‘s approval rating in the past month has skyrocketed, jumping six points after massive successes in getting his legislative agenda passed. At 44%, Biden’s approval rating is now higher than the approval ratings of Donald Trump (41%), Barack Obama (43%), Bill Clinton (39%), Jimmy Carter (43%), and Ronald Reagan (41%) at this point in their presidencies.

The only Presidents who had higher job approval ratings at this point were George W. Bush (65%) and George H.W. Bush (74%), both of whom were engaged in prosecuting wars in the Middle East, and Richard Nixon (55%). Gerald Ford’s was 48% at this point in his presidency, but as an unelected president coming in after the Nixon resignation it’s a difficult comparison to weigh.

Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant occupied by Moscow's troops came back online on Friday afternoon, the state operator said, after Kyiv claimed it was cut from the national power grid by Russian shelling.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) told President Joe Biden to "Go to hell" on Friday. The MAGA Republican made the comment following the Aug. 24 reveal from the White House that Greene had $183,504 in PPP loans forgiven.

Greene made the remark on Twitter and also shared a video of Biden saying that he did not respect MAGA Republicans. "I don't respect these MAGA Republicans," said the president in the clip.
