Priests prayed over Christie when he was hospitalized for COVID, ex-gov. writes in new book

Former Gov. Chris Christie writes in a new book that he and others were extremely worried when he was hospitalized with COVID-19 after he contracted the illness while at the Trump White House. Christie says his priest arrived in the hospital and rubbed oils on his forehead in the sign of the cross and prayed over him, according to a report in The New York Times. The Times on Saturday reviewed an advance copy of Christie’s book, “Republican Rescue: Saving the Party From Truth Deniers, Conspiracy Theorists, and the Dangerous Policies of Joe Biden.” The book, which is published by Simon and Schus...

Wilmington (United States) (AFP) - A pizzeria in President Joe Biden's hometown Wilmington recently took sparkling water off the menu because it got so pricey managers figured no one would buy it.

The Revolution of 2020: How Trump's Big Lie reshaped history after 220 years

There are few words as overused as "revolution," which has many Merriam-Webster definitions and here means "a fundamental change in political organization." While people who discuss politics are prone to dramatic talk of "revolutions," few of the American presidential elections described that way really merit the term. Franklin D. Roosevelt's "revolution" of 1932 changed the nature and role of government in American life, and Ronald Reagan's election in 1980 undid at least some of those changes. But neither election literally altered how our democracy functions.

Bad news for Trump now that the 'courts have wised up' to his game: legal analyst

Appearing on MSNBC on Saturday morning, former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner admitted that he was stunned by how rapidly Donald Trump's legal maneuvers are receiving consideration as they move up the appeals chain and claimed it appears judges at various levels are expediting the cases to the former president's detriment.

Speaking with MSNBC host Tiffany Cross, Kirschner pointed out Trump's attempt to keep the National Archives from turning over his files and documents to the House Jan 6th committee is moving faster than expected with the former president losing every step of the way.

Chris Christie questions whether Trump is 'nuts' as he continues to spout election lies

According to a report from the Guardian, based upon Chris Christie's new book, the former New Jersey governor suggests that former president Donald Trump might not be mentally well as he continues to insist the election was stolen from him despite all evidence to the contrary.

A remarkable precedent: FL Republicans want to pay workers who refuse to submit to vaccine mandates

The state of Florida would pay workers to quit their jobs by giving them unemployment benefits rather than submit to vaccine mandates under legislation filed for Gov. Ron DeSantis' special session of the Legislature, due to convene next week.

That's a provision of SB 2, one of four bills introduced as part of the governor's campaign against vaccine and mask mandates in workplaces and public schools. The state also has filed lawsuits seeking to overturn President Joe Biden's plan to require vaccinations for businesses, health care providers, and federal contractors.

Devin Nunes facing an uphill battle to remain in Congress after redistricting: report

According to a report from the Fresno Bee, a radical redrawing of congressional districts will strip away whatever advantage Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) had in previous elections unless he wants to move to a newly redrawn district that is more conservative than the one he will soon be living in.

Noting that, "The new legislative maps created through redistricting — a once-a-decade task meant to better match population changes to voting districts found by the Census — are far from final and could change dramatically based on constituent feedback," the report adds that should the map now drawn up stay the same, Nunes will face re-election among voters who voted overwhelmingly for President Joe Biden.

This GOP congressman tried to fearmonger about Biden’s agenda — but it completely backfired

Republicans can be brutally effective with their messaging, however disingenuous — from weaponizing the term "woke" (which had a very positive connotation when it originated in the African-American community) to convincing Virginia voters that critical race theory is a major threat in public schools. But sometimes, GOP messaging that's meant to inflict harm on Democrats can fall painfully flat. A case in point: Rep. Chris Stewart of Utah argued that President Joe Biden's Build Back Better agenda is a "socialist" attack on taxpayers — then listed everything there is to like about it.

The Utah Republican, on November 10, tweeted, "This is what the build back better plan includes. This is the socialist laundry list that your hard-earned taxpayer money is going towards."
