In a new ad that was released this Wednesday, the anti-Trump Republican group Lincoln Project took aim at GOP senators who are looking to absolve former President Trump of accountability for his rhetoric in the run-up to the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6., even as a murdered Capitol police officer lies in state at the Rotunda.
"It was a mob fed a diet of lies, conspiracy, and propaganda, fantasies of stolen elections," the ad's narrator states. "Now, the people who fed that mob are trying to escape responsibility."
