Michigan Republican Mike Rogers appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday was panned on MS NOW Monday morning for being a waste of time because he just sucked up to Donald Trump.
It was so bad that “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough refused to share any clips from it and said he would have pulled the plug immediately after it began if it had been on his show.
Speaking with host Kristen Welker, Rogers, who is facing Dr. Abdul Al-Sayed for a seat in the Senate representing Michigan, ducked questions about Donald Trump — specifically his tariffs — while also attacking “you guys on the national press,” calling a question about whether he considers himself “MAGA” as “disgusting.”
That prompted Scarborough to go off.
“We could show you—I don't even want to waste your time on ‘Meet the Press.’ I don't even waste your time showing you Mike Rogers on ‘Meet the Press.’ It was just three minutes of Kristen Welker asking him if he supported Donald Trump or not, and if he was, if he supported MAGA Republicans, and he just, he talked around in circles,” he began.
“It was embarrassing. It was humiliating,” he added. “Again, he would have had about 15 seconds on this show, and then we would have kicked him off because he doesn't answer questions! Because he can't answer questions, because he knows his views of being a puppet for Donald Trump, which he will be, which he will be, his views are incompatible with most Michigan voters.”
