Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) set the rumor mill churning by highlighting President Donald Trump's close personal aide in a speech over the weekend.
The Georgia Democrat blasted the 80-year-old president's handling of the war in Iran, and he made brief mention of Trump's executive assistant Natalie Harp, who follows the president around with a portable printer so he doesn't strain his eyes looking at screens and has reportedly raised concerns from the Secret Service for her admiring notes to him.
"While the sailors on the [USS] Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings," Ossoff said. "He golfs and trades stocks. See, he doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar."
Ossoff's audience roared in astonishment at the reference to the 35-year-old Harp, who has been derisively nicknamed the "human printer" by other White House aides and Trump's "diaper nurse" by online detractors, and video clips posted on social media stirred up a commotion.
"First federal Democratic elected official to say the name of Trump’s alleged mistress, I think," said political strategist Mike Nellis. "Won’t be the last."
"For the uninitiated, he means Natalie Harp, Trump’s human printer and stepford wife robot aide," presented Democratic activist Matt Royer. "She allegedly leaves notes in his private spaces like the Residence which have read 'You Are All That Matters to Me.' And well take that as you will."
"This is going to lead to some uncomfortable conversations in Washington newsrooms," opined podcaster Dan Pfeiffer.
"And the Natalie reference provokes a response at the Ossoff rally," observed writer Nick Field. "Dems know who she is. Time for someone to finally confirm it with an article, the New York Times came close in November 2024, but didn't explicitly say it."
"The Washington Post newsroom has only mentioned Natalie Harp in one article during the entirety of Donald Trump’s second term," noted Catholic blogger Christopher Hale.
"Ossoff winking at the rumor that Natalie Harp is more than just Trump’s staffer," agreed podcaster Tommy Vietor. "The question now is whether this will kick up a round of actual reporting by news outlets."
"You don’t take a jab at Natalie Harp unless you’re running for president," opined political commentator Jack Cocchiarella.
"Natalie Harp traveling with Trump today," pointed out Meidas Touch digital editor Acyn, sharing a Reuters photo of her disembarking Air Force One.
"Make sure Melania sees this," cracked political commentator Keith Edwards.
"What I like about Jon is that he isn’t afraid to go there and say things others are afraid to and does it unabashedly. 'Yea trump is a failure, he’s weak and tired, and he has a mistress. Let’s talk about it,'" marveled popular X user Tim "Trouble Man 90."
"'Natalie' is trending. Trump will be furious," offered Zeteo's Mehdi Hasan. "@ossoff won't be the last Democrat to mention her by name but I think he's the first. (A reminder that she was on the catering truck with Trump while he left Rubio behind on the allegedly under-threat plane.)"
"Ossoff is a rare talent. Tip of the hat on your stiletto skills, sir," saluted pundit Julie Roginsky.
